Dr. Mitri Raheb will be speaking at a lunch event on-campus. Dr. Raheb is the pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethlehem and a leading Palestinian Christian theologian, writer, and activist. He will be coming to the U.S. for a short book tour to university settings. The presentation will be based on his book: “Faith in the Face of Empire: The Bible Through Palestinian Eyes”.
Dr. Raheb has written 13 books and numerous articles on issues relating to interfaith dialogue, social transformation, contextual theology, and culture, most of what have been translated into many languages. Dr. Raheb’s writing “covers an impressive range of ancient and modern Palestinian history to set geopolitical context for the writings of the Bible.” As a Palestinian Christian, he offers a rarely heard political and spiritual perspective on the Bible.
The event is free, but registration is highly recommended, as space is limited.
